The first summer after a complete lockdown of the pandemic. Our clients traveled with their children and decided to try family deep-sea fishing in Punta Cana. Place of fishing – Atlantic Ocean. Family fishing is one of our favorite types of charters and a very popular activity in Punta Cana.

So I’ll start my report. Our clients found us through the Fishinbook website, but after learning that decided to order directly, also because of the discount “Family fishing in Punta Cana” that workes for them really well, since thir kids are 2 brave young anglers 🙂

So at 8 am the guests arrived at Marina Punta Cana, we met and went to the boat. This was the second family big water fishing trip for clients. The boys were very excited and anxiously awaiting their departure to the ocean. Fifteen minutes after we got out we started fishing.

For the first 20 minutes, we only had time to clean the bait from sargas algae and wait for a bite. And then the fishing rod worked, we put the bull on the hook, it was a big Mahi. The boys tried to reel the fish out, but it was hard for them and the fish could break loose and leave. I called their mom and asked to replace them. 

Together, all three of them reeled the fish to the side of the boat and we hooked it out. It was a big Mahi bull. After that there were a few more bites, but all the other fish were smaller and the boys were already able to reel them out almost on their own 🙂 these were their first oceanic catches. The parents were glad to see how their boys were happy.

After fishing, we went to the lagoon, where the children and their parents went snorkeling and swimming. We cooked their catch on the grill, everyone loved the freshly cooked mahi. By the way, this was the first time for the whole family when they tried freshly caught (and not from the refrigerator) and grilled mahi.

Our clients were very happy with their trip and assured us that we will definitely see you again soon. Family fishing in Punta Cana is one of the most exciting adventures for the whole family

The Best Experience Ever

Let me start by saying this is one of the best fishing trips we have been on. We have two younger children and this is their second time out. The weather this week was a little touch and go. The ocean was very choppy but Elena was very good through out the entire trip to make sure the boys were feeling ok and not getting sick. We also had an amazing captain to guide through the swells. We were able to snag a good sized Mahi Mahi. The crew were great with the children and helped my son attempt to reel in his first ever ocean fish.
After 4 hrs of fishing, we then cruised to the lagoon. Elena took great pictures with the family and drinks were served to celebrate the catch of the day. The captain then fillet and cooked the fish for the family while we snorkeled in the lagoon looking at fish and finding conch. We even had a shark sighting! During this time of Covid-19 the crew was excellent, masks at all time and hand sanitizer readily available. Our family had an excellent time and have wonderful memories due to all the hard work of the Santa Elena fishing staff and crew! We would DEFINITELY use them again. Thanks!!!
